About us
The history of the State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Centre of Vocational and Technical Education of Water Transport” dates back to September 1, 1972, when Technical School No. 5 of the city of Zaporizhzhia was established on the basis of the Zaporizhzhia Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Plant. In 1985, Technical School No. 5 of the city of Zaporizhia was renamed Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 5. In 1993, Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 5 of the city of Zaporizhzhia was renamed Vocational and Technical School No. 5. July 1, 2003 Vocational and Technical School No. 5 of the city of Zaporizhzhia was reorganized into the Zaporizhzhia Vocational Lyceum of Water Transport (Order No. 243 dated 07.07.2003 of the Department of Education and Science of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration). The Zaporizhzhia Vocational Lyceum of Water Transport was reorganized into the State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Centre of Vocational and Technical Education of Water Transport” (Order dated 05.06.2009 No. 374 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine).
The State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Centre of Vocational and Technical Education of Water Transport” is a state vocational and technical educational institution of the III level of accreditation in the Zaporizhzhia region, which trains professionals for the river and sea transportation of Ukraine.
The State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Centre for Vocational and Technical Education of Water Transport” is the only specialized educational institution in the region registered with the IMO (International Maritime Organization, London) as an educational institution whose graduates meet the requirements of this organization.
In 2006, the Inspectorate for the Training and Certification of Seafarers issued a Protocol of the Compliance of our educational institution with the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (1978), with amendments, and national requirements.
Our educational institution ensures the realization of the needs of citizens in vocational and technical education and mastering trades in accordance with their interests, abilities, and state of health.
